Mortal kombat 9 (2011) end boss?

ok so iv fought this guy about 30 times and cant win iv looked at strategys and they all say stay away from him which is immpossible not to mention you can knock him down, iv watched videos and all shao khan does is taunt and throw spears but all he does for me is lumber towards me or fly across screen with that shoulder rush iv managed to beat him for one round. the next round he threw his hammer 8 time in a row and killed me flawless
