Need help building a patio, which material do I need?

Building it yourself from scratch will be a lot less expensive. Both Lowe's and Home Depot have several books about how to build patios and decks and their contractor department, which by the way is misnamed because they will help any one that wants help, will help you figure out the material and cut list and give hints on how to make all the posts and etc.
